Autoresponders
One of the best ways to keep in touch with visitors to your web site is through autoresponders. An autoresponder, in its simplest form, sends out a predefined series of emails to people who request them. You can develop a series of 7 to 10 articles about a particular subject. Each article should probably be no more than 400 or 500 words and should have plenty of headings to help keep people reading. Each email should have helpful information about the subject. This will help build a relationship of trust between you and the readers. Once the reader begins to trust you about the subject you're writing to them about, they will be able to trust other recommendations you make to them. After 4 or 5 emails you can begin to suggest various products for them to review. You'll of course give your affiliate link to these products so you can make a commission should the reader purchase the product. Many autoresponders are capable of sending only text messages. Some, however, can send formatted HTML emails where images, menus, and ads can be displayed in a clean layout, just like a web page. In addition, some autoresponders also function as an opt-in list. That is, you can send out emails to your autoresponder list just as you do with any normal opt-in list. This is especially powerful because you know people signed up for your autoresponder because they were interested in the subject of the course you were offering through the autoresponder. This is another way of generating a valuable targeted list. Here are a number of resources that explore all the avenues for making extra money both on the Internet on off.
